We have received some questions about the concrete work that were not covered in the 4/20 letter or the 5/8/email and here are the answers:
1. Quality – ETC will supervise the work on behalf of the association and the association is paying ETC to make sure the materials and workmanship are satisfactory according to their normal standards. They manage concrete work all the time for other associations. You should participate in this only if you’re comfortable with this arrangement.
2. Satisfaction – Select will collect and hold the money and the board will authorize payment to the contractor as work progresses and is completed to the satisfaction of the board and as advised by ETC. It’s mentioned in the mailed out letter of 4/20.
3. Warranty – the standard state of Michigan Construction Warranty is 18 months. That will apply to the concrete work.
4. Receipt – Since you’ll be paying the Association (thru Select) there will be adequate records of your payment. Select will be able to generate a receipt for you if you need one.
5. Parking – we’ll allow overnight parking on the street for the duration of the work (but cars must allow work to resume during the day!)
