Nancy Winchester News

Dear Neighbors,

I have sad news to share with all.  I just received word a few hours ago.  One of our neighbors, Nancy Winchester has passed away.  When I learn more information about funeral arrangements, I will pass it on in this post.  Brian and I extend our sincere condolences to Nancy’s family in this sad time.

  1. Yes, this is very sad news. Nancy was a wonderfully nice lady and one of the first neighbors I met after moving to Fox Glen. Thank you for informing us, Dorothy, and we’ll look for info about the funeral arrangements.

    Winchester, Nancy 8/17/1933 – 8/25/2016 Ann Arbor Nancy Jean Stehle Winchester passed away August 25, 2016, after living a full and happy life. She was born in Ann Arbor Township on August 17, 1933 to Wanda and Herbert Stehle. She married her high school sweetheart, John H. Winchester, on September 2, 1952. Nancy earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Eastern Michigan University and was a teacher for 25 years, 18 of those years at Haisley Elementary School in Ann Arbor. Nancy loved teaching and the special relationships she had with her students and their parents, as well as her fellow teachers. Nancy adored her family and her many grandchildren and great-children. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Winchester, her mother and father, Wanda and Herbert Stehle, and her brother, Neil Stehle, who lost his life in the Vietnam War in 1968. She is survived by her sister, Sharon Reynolds, sister and brother-in law Julie and Art DiBlassio, brother-in-law Richard (Judy) Winchester; her children: Laurie (David) Picard, John (Linda) Winchester, Jr., William (Wendy) Winchester, and Lynn (Kevin) Donnelly; grandchildren: Aaron (Tabitha) Barrett, Keirston (Christopher) Chiapelli, LeighAnn (Scott) Meyer, Austin (Jessica) Donnelly, Mark Winchester, Tyler Picard, Leslie Donnelly, Nicholas Winchester, Connor Donnelly, Samantha Winchester; great-grandchildren: Christian, Beau, Luke and Waylon Barrett, and Welles Meyer; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at 1 p.m., First Congregational Church, Ann Arbor, MI. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the in Nancy’s honor.
